Capital Campaign

Preparing for the Promises of God

Invest in Our Space. Invest in US.

View as PDF

For years, this church has been a home for Black queer and trans people and our allies — a place of worship, healing, organizing, and mutual care. Here we’ve celebrated, grieved, protested, grown, learned, loved, and fed one another. Recognizing this immense impact, we want to help ensure this church can continue to hold and protect us for years to come.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 from February 8 to July 5, 2026.

These funds will be used for projects that matter to everyone who walks through our doors:

  • Saving and investing funds for the future to prepare for unexpected challenges and/or for eventual expansion of our ministry

  • Continuing to improve our technology to make our services and events more accessible for those who attend in person, as well as our virtual community

  • Redecorating and rearranging our meeting spaces to better reflect the folks that gather here

We are asking those who can to give to this campaign in addition to your regular tithes and offerings. We will steward every gift with transparency. The stewardship committee, led by Dr. Lee Patterson, along with the church council, will share regular updates and explain exactly how gifts are being used. And if you prefer to give anonymously, that option is available.

How can you help? There are a few ways:

  • Give a one-time gift today by using the button below.

  • Make a pledge and pay it over the next five months — many people find that makes larger gifts easier.

  • Share this campaign with friends, family, and community members who believe in the work of Lighthouse Church.

This campaign isn’t only about dollars. It’s about investing in the safety, dignity, and life of Black queer and trans bodies. It’s about ensuring that Lighthouse remains a place where people can come, be seen, and be cared for. Your gift — whether $10, $100, or $2,500 — matters. Every gift moves us closer to a safer and more accessible home.

If you have any questions about this campaign, you can see one of your pastors, any member of the church council, or send a message to info@lighthousechicago.org.

The Lighthouse Church of Chicago is supported by the generous donations of our members and friends. Thank YOU for your donation!
