About The Event
Interested in joining Lighthouse Foundation? We are a non-sectarian, non-profit org. that addresses the needs and advances justice for the African American LGBTQ+ population throughout Chicagoland.
Join us on August 14 for an interest meeting. This event is only for African American LGBTQ+ identifying individuals only.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Lighthouse Foundation has named as its latest organizing focus the Center on Halsted CEO Modesto “Tico” Valle, for his employment of Walsh Security at the Center. To be clear, our issue is not with rank and file Center on Halsted staff, who work tirelessly to serve the community. However, one purpose of our organizing meetings is to provide those impacted by Valle’s policies at the Center with an environment where they feel free to speak to their concerns, fears, and hopes. While we will meet with COH leaders in the future, at this time, we ask COH staff and members of its Board of Directors not to attend Foundation meetings.
